Blade putters: test aim and pace

A blade putter usually has a more compact head than a mallet. Head shape, weighting, neck and alignment features all influence how a particular model behaves for a player.

Specifications to compare

  • Length and lie
  • Head weight
  • Neck and balance
  • Aim and distance control

A useful fitting test

Test short start-line putts and longer pace putts. Keep the ball and green constant. Ask a fitter to assess setup and delivered face direction.

Trade-offs

Do not choose a blade only because of a claimed stroke category. Individual balance designs vary within the same silhouette.

Example decision

A compact head can frame the ball well for one player while another aims more consistently with larger alignment features.

Before buying

Confirm the exact model, playing side, loft, shaft, length, condition and return terms. Use the manufacturer’s current specification sheet for the actual club. This guide does not claim a product test or a guaranteed result.
