Golf shoes: fit, traction and walking comfort

Golf shoes should remain comfortable over a long walk while providing suitable traction for the surfaces you use. Course rules and weather affect the choice.

Before choosing

  1. Try both shoes with your playing socks.
  2. Check heel hold and room around the toes.
  3. Walk and make gentle turns.
  4. Compare waterproofing and outsole information from the actual model.

Practical test

Test comfort indoors under the seller's return conditions. Consider the distance you walk and whether you play wet grass frequently.

Common mistakes

Do not choose only by appearance. Do not assume every spikeless outsole grips equally on wet slopes.

Example

A comfortable shoe for a dry range may be unsuitable for a wet, hilly course.

Check the manufacturer’s current instructions and specifications for the exact product. This is an educational selection guide, not a hands-on product review.
