MY GOLF BLUEPRINT

“Fore!” and basic course safety

Etiquette and practical course care. Follow local guidance.

Shout “Fore!” immediately when a ball may endanger someone. A prompt, loud warning matters more than watching to see where it finishes.

Practical steps

  1. Check the entire possible landing area before playing, including adjacent holes.
  2. Stand clear of another player's swing and intended shot.
  3. Follow the course's weather and suspension instructions.
  4. When warned, protect yourself and avoid looking toward an incoming ball.

Example

If a shot heads toward people on another fairway, call immediately. Do not wait for the ball to get close.

Avoid this

Aiming away from someone is not enough if an ordinary miss can reach them. Never use a practice drill where another person could enter the strike zone.
