MY GOLF BLUEPRINT

Putting setup that you can repeat

A putting setup should make aim and contact repeatable without creating tension. Eye position and grip style vary between successful players.

Work through it

  1. Find a comfortable stance and let the arms hang.
  2. Set the face on the chosen start line.
  3. Check how the putter sits on its sole.
  4. Use a mirror or video to compare setups rather than force one exact shape.

A practical example

A setup that looks textbook but aims poorly is less useful than one that consistently starts the ball on the intended line.

Practice task

Rebuild your setup before each of ten short putts. Mark which start through a small gate. Compare consistency rather than how still you look.

Common mistakes

Do not force the eyes directly over the ball if it disrupts aim or comfort. Avoid stretching the arms far away from the body.

Choose a comfortable movement and change one variable at a time. Stop if a movement causes pain; a qualified coach can adapt the task to your mobility and experience.
