Mallet putters: alignment and stability

A mallet offers a larger head shape with room for alignment features and varied weight distribution. Different mallets have different balance and feel.

Specifications to compare

  • Alignment visibility
  • Length and lie
  • Balance design
  • Pace on long putts

A useful fitting test

Compare with your current putter on the same short and long tasks. Record start-line accuracy and the spread of stopping distances.

Trade-offs

Do not assume every mallet is face-balanced or that a larger head automatically fixes poor aim. Try the actual model.

Example decision

A bold sightline may help one golfer but distract another. Your repeated starting line is more useful than appearance alone.

Before buying

Confirm the exact model, playing side, loft, shaft, length, condition and return terms. Use the manufacturer’s current specification sheet for the actual club. This guide does not claim a product test or a guaranteed result.
