MY GOLF BLUEPRINT

Draws, fades and controlled shot shaping

A controlled shape begins with a suitable start line and a manageable curve. It is not produced by stance alone.

Work through it

  1. Start with centered contact and a broad target.
  2. Use the flight visualizer to understand face-to-path.
  3. Try a small shape at comfortable speed.
  4. Compare the full landing pattern rather than one successful shot.

A practical example

A right-handed draw can begin right of target with the face still left of the path. This differs from simply closing the face to the target.

Practice task

Alternate five gentle fades and five gentle draws with an iron. Record starting direction and final corridor. Retain your normal shape on the course until the alternative is repeatable.

Common mistakes

Do not aim at trouble and rely on an untested curve. Driver gear effect can change the apparent relationship.

Choose a comfortable movement and change one variable at a time. Stop if a movement causes pain; a qualified coach can adapt the task to your mobility and experience.
